VivaTech 2022 is off to a strong start

There were a lot of people this morning for the opening session of the first pro session. Several conferences were planned and attendance at the exhibition quickly became popular to discover the different startups and innovations that were introduced this year. In the programme, VivaTech 2022 covers 6 main topics: the environment, mobility, Web3, the future of work, inclusion and the European scale.

Among the politicians present at the site on Wednesday, we were able to meet Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy, Finance, Industry and Digital Sovereignty. Yesterday, he and his team welcomed the arrival of the 27th rhinoceros (startup of over 1 billion euros) in French technology. They were only 3 in 2017.

In the 2022 edition programme, VivaTech returns with the “Next Unicorn Award”. The purpose of this party is to find out of the 100 startups in the race that are most likely to become unicorns. The jury members, made up of several investment funds, will take as criteria their growth and growth potential, venture capital fundraising and their ability to make a positive impact on society.

VivaTech 2022: Conferences not to be missed

Among the 27 French startups, many agreed to come to VivaTech to talk about their history. For the sixth edition of the event, we will be treated to an impressive series of conferences by its founders. We especially expect the characters behind Exotec (the first synthetic unicorn), BlaBlaCar, Spendesk, Mirakl, Ledger and ContentSquare.

International personalities will also be speaking, such as Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. Wednesday morning was also an opportunity for Orange’s new CEO, Christel Heidemann, to talk about digitization, inclusion, and the environment.

VivaTech 2022 Live: Startup Offers

For our team, VivaTech 2022 is also an opportunity to test the latest innovations from French and international startups. Within the La Poste group, several projects were presented, including Cray X, developed by German Bionic. This is the first exoskeleton used by the French group’s employees to assist with loading.

Still at Le Groupe La Poste, we were able to see the future autonomous logistics support vehicle for postal drivers. We’ve also seen a DPD drone in use since 2016 by La Poste.

Ecology has been invited to the VivaTech exhibition with SNCF in particular, to present its first driving force from the TGV M. With it, the high-speed trains will be able to reduce CO2 emissions by 32%, fuel consumption by 20% energy and 30% costs maintenance. The motors will also be developed from 97% recycled materials.

VivaTech 2022: Our discussions with exhibitors

Let’s start by hopping on with startup Fairlyne, which is developing a service in collaboration with SNCF to be able to offer you train tickets on entire trains. Here is the stadium

Next, head to the BNP Paribas stand to talk to the co-founder of Lixo, an artificial intelligence company in the waste sorting service.

We also caught up with Fanny Bouton, present with OVHcloud presenting 25 startups during the four days of the VivaTech Show. Today, the focus has been on quantum computing, for a demonstration that is closely related to the future of technology and scientific research.

On the topic of the future of work, we caught up with Gad Ammar, Regional Director for Monday, the project management platform that has become widely known with the pandemic and telecommuting. Tell us about the virtual workspace and why they are at VivaTech.
