Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp deals with Tottenham

Watched by Tottenham (1-1), this Saturday on the occasion of the 36th day of the Premier League, Liverpool may have bid farewell to the title. In a post-match press conference, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp criticized the attitude of Tottenham’s players during the match.

Liverpool lost two valuable points on Saturday in the race for the Premier League title. Against Tottenham on behalf of the 36th day of the tournament, the Mercy side could do no better than a draw. A disappointing result may pave the way for Manchester City, who plays today against Newcastle, towards the title. In a press conference after the duel against Tottenham Hotspur, Jurgen Klopp preferred to keep his team’s best performance, while he tackled his opponents today.

What is my opinion of the Tottenham takeover (36%)? I’m sorry, but I’m not the right person to ask about this because I don’t like this kind of football. But this is my personal problem. For all the praise for Tottenham, the global opponent, they beat City – the game works with those matches but they’re still fifth and they’ve wasted time on everything they’ve done – and that doesn’t make it any easier. No, it’s smart but it’s not easy.

[…] In those moments we could have been better and in better positions but other than that it is very difficult to play against an opponent with a world class coach and a whole week to prepare – we all play in the three days, it is very difficult, but I am really satisfied with the performance“We fired the Reds coach.

In the event of a victory over Newcastle on Sunday, Manchester City will advance by three points over Liverpool a few days before the end of the tournament. As a reminder, the Citizens were knocked out of the Champions League this week by Real Madrid, with only the Premier League left to save themselves from an empty year.
