Vladimir Putin’s ‘mistress’ defied sanctions by wearing a £2,000 dress while showing off a Z symbol in support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Alina Kabaeva, 38, is seen in videos leading the National Gymnastics Ballet Festival accompanied by a uniformed military choir.

The former Olympic gold medalist has resurfaced in Moscow after rumors she has been hiding in a Swiss chalet or Siberian nuclear bunker since the start of the Ukrainian invasion.

The event included some of the Soviet Union’s most patriotic songs celebrating the country’s victory over the Nazis – but also the “Z” symbol compared to critics of the Russian swastika.

Kabaeva wore a £1915 fuchsia silk dress by London designer Alessandra Rich at the annual Alina Festival.

With a patriotic St. George ribbon affixed to her chest, she linked the victory of World War II to the events of the day: “This topic, you see, is history, not only goes into the past. It stays with us.”

His words dovetail with Putin’s assertion that his modern-day war is against the “Nazis” controlling Ukraine, just as World War II was over defeating the Nazis under Hitler.

“This celebration is not only for the whole country, it is a holiday for every family,” said Kabaeva.

Every family has a war story. And we must never forget it, but pass it on from generation to generation.”

Girls of all ages wore war costumes during the show.

The actors represented Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine in a show that seemed to reenact the Soviet victory.

The entire program will be broadcast on May 8, on the eve of a huge military parade on Red Square to commemorate “Victory Day”.

Putin himself is expected to use VE Day to claim some sort of victory over his invasion of Ukraine, despite the Russian death toll at around 30,000.

It comes after the United States deliberately avoided punishing Vladimir Putin’s alleged mistress at the eleventh hour, fearing it would inflame tensions between the Kremlin and the West.

Officials in Washington believe that punishing Kabaeva will be seen as a “personal” attack on Putin.

When she made a comeback last week, reports focused on her new look that references Botox and fillers.

“Something has really changed in Kabaeva’s face,” said the Russian world, adding that “the legendary athlete was definitely more beautiful.”

The magazine hinted that Kabaeva was the unofficial first lady of the country: “Alina Kabaeva is one of the most mysterious and secretive women of our country.

“The gymnast almost does not appear in public, [appear in] Social networking sites, and can not be seen by chance on the street or in shopping centers.

Putin is said to have had a romantic relationship with the gymnast for over a decade, going back to her days as a pro-Kremlin lawmaker.

There have been numerous reports of her wearing a wedding ring, but no marriage record.

And many Russians saw it as the reason for the breakdown of Putin’s marriage to former first lady Lyudmila, 63, who is the mother of his two adult daughters.

Kabaeva disappeared from the public eye for nearly three years in 2018 amid suspicions that she had given birth to twins in a Moscow hospital.

She was rumored to have four young children with the Russian leader who locked them up in a “private and very safe chalet in Switzerland” when war broke out in Ukraine.

Kabaeva has kept a low profile in the Ukraine war – but her media outlets have been outspoken in encouraging Putin.

The Russian gymnast runs the National Media Group and her salary is estimated at around £8 million annually.
