How to force dark mode on all websites in Brave

If you’re a fan of dark mode and use the Brave browser, you’ll appreciate its ability to darken the browser’s interface, but you’ll also force all websites to use a dark theme, even those that don’t.

Force dark mode on all websites in Brave desktop

As of this writing, enforcing dark mode for all websites on desktop is only available as a science-backed beta feature in Brave. As with all experimental features, they are not guaranteed to work properly and may affect browser performance.

If you’re ready to view all your sites in dark mode on your desktop, start by launching the Brave browser on your PC. In Brave, click on the address bar and type the following. Then press Enter:

brave: // flags

brave against. DUCKDUCKGO: THE PRIVACY BROWSER FOR ANDROID

Access the Brave flags on the desktop.

On the “Experiments” page that opens, at the top, click on the “Search Tags” box and enter the following:

dark

Enter “Dark” in the search field.

In the search results, next to “Automatic dark mode for web contents,” click on the drop-down menu and select “Enabled.”

Enable “Automatic dark mode for web content”.

To apply the changes, in the lower right corner of Brave, click Restart. This closes and reopens the browser.

Select “Reboot” in the lower right corner.

Once you reopen Brave, go to your favorite sites, which will all use a dark theme.
