Brisbane-based technology company Enablo has unveiled a multi-million dollar investment in the future of the metaverse with a new division called Reality Labs.
Enablo’s Reality Labs will work closely with Meta Reality Labs to help companies leverage the metaverse – leveraging virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to bring people together through a powerful suite of business tools and solutions.
CEO Daragh McGrath said the goal of focusing on the metaverse is to make the future of work easier for organizations.
“As a major Meta Partner Workplace, we are proud to launch more than 200 organizations on the enterprise communications platform,” says McGrath.
“Demonstrating how to improve communication, collaboration, and communication among an enterprise’s distributed workforce is what Enablo has always done best.
“We’ve shown success in delivering solutions through our partnerships with workplace technology platforms Workplace, Asana and Google Workspace, so investing in our own suite of products that build on the functionality of these tools is a big step. Naturally.
Nathan Bazley is leading the investment. He has six years of experience in immersive technologies, having worked for organizations such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and NBC Universal in the areas of augmented reality, virtual reality, virtual production and other real-time technologies.
Bazley said the opportunity to work with Enablo to bring workplace communication and conversations to the metaverse was one he couldn’t refuse.
“It is not surprising that the way we operate has changed now. With so many remote centers and most of us somewhat mixed, it is critical that companies find better ways to bring colleagues together.”
“Immersive technologies have been created for this moment, and with exciting new technology and equipment capabilities looming, workers will no longer be restricted to webcam to communicate. Enablo is the right team tackling the right problem at the right time. I am delighted to have the opportunity to build this division of business and lead it to an exciting future.
Bazley said there are many opportunities in the international B2B metaverse market for a Brisbane participant.
“A lot of early B2B metaverse products today were made by tech enthusiasts, for tech enthusiasts,” he said.
“I focus on creating products and experiences for a new generation of leaders and their employees. Getting started in a digital workplace to connect with colleagues should be easy and fun. You should never leave feeling as tired as we all are after a day of video conferencing. I see this as the evolution of internal communication.
Enablo Reality Labs will be strengthening its team and product range throughout the year, but its first customer will be the company itself.
“We’re always embracing the technology we sell, so we’re really starting to test new possibilities with the technologies we have today,” McGrath concluded.
